Strawberry Girl

Strawberry Girl.

In those days when summer,
Breaks slowly into the autumn,
I will remember only warmth.
For sharing every gentle touch,
In heaven you brought me to.

When autumn leaves for winter,
You still warm my very core,
Where I shall beg always for more.
A memory of sharing with you,
Each pleasure and the sunset sky.

Chorus
You entered as my strawberry girl, a taste of sweetened joy.
I never got to tell you all, how happy you made this boy….

Then my solemn winter moves on,
Death proving to be more now,
Than only the missing of you.
When candles still flicker your light,
And the carol singers bring delight.

Chorus
You entered as my strawberry girl, a taste of sweetened joy.
I never got to tell you all, how happy you made this boy….

One day becomes as every other,
In the absence of your smile.
And I welcome in the springtime,
New life has brought a bloom,
Like your presence in my room.

Chorus
You entered as my strawberry girl, a taste of sweetened joy.
I never got to tell you all, how happy you made this boy….

And as the birds lead a chorus,
Of how lonesome my life is now.
The ghost of pure nostalgia calls,
For I cannot accept my loss,
As we’d promised each other forever.

Chorus
You entered as my strawberry girl, a taste of sweetened joy.
I never got to tell you all, how happy you made this boy….

So believe me when I tell you,
You are the seasons of my life.
How glad I have been to know you,
And how treasured as my wife.
For you entered as my strawberry girl…

Chorus
You entered as my strawberry girl, a taste of sweetened joy.
I never got to tell you all, how happy you made this boy….

Chorus
You entered as my strawberry girl, a taste of sweetened joy.
I never got to tell you all, how happy you made this boy….

To fade……
